Choosing wedding favors

One of the things that give couples the biggest headache closer to the wedding is the thought of wedding favors. The process of figuring out what is an appropriate favor and how to go about getting them is not something you want to leave till the very end.

The problem is one of logistics and cost. The closer you leave it the more difficult it is going to be to source the favor and the more it is going to cost you. So start early. Planning the favors even a year ahead is not such a bad idea. This way you will have time to experiment with personalized napkins or even design a personalized ribbon to wrap around your wedding favors.

If the wedding favor is complicated, then you need to allow yourself and the vendor time to produce and evaluate samples. Do not underestimate the time that is needed for this process. The longer you have, the more time you have to get every detail and color right. When you are looking for a vendor, try not to decide on cost alone. Go on the old adage “Good things aren’t cheap, cheap things aren’t good” and you won’t go wrong. The best thing to do is to go online and find vendors with a good catalog, ability to do custom designs and located in an area reachable by you. Shortlist a few of them and try to visit their offices. This way you can look at some of their previous work firsthand and then make a final decision.
